Farm Curiosities

How does the CSA share work exactly?

You become a farm partner! By paying for your season upfront, you help us buy seeds and supplies. In return, you get the absolute best of each week's harvest delivered straight to your box throughout the Minnesota growing season.

Everything you need to know about joining our Pine River farm family. Transparent, simple, and honest.

When and where do I pick up my veggies?

We host weekly pickups right here at our Pine River farm every Tuesday from 3pm to 6pm. For those further out, we have convenient local hub pickups in Brainerd and Pequot Lakes on Wednesday afternoons.

What if I'm unfamiliar with a certain vegetable?

That's half the fun! Every weekly box includes our 'Roots News' newsletter. It's packed with simple, farm-tested recipes, storage tips, and a little story about what's happening on the farm that week.

What happens if I go on vacation?

We're flexible folks. You can have a neighbor or friend pick up your share, or give us a heads-up 48 hours in advance and we'll donate your box to a local food cupboard in your name.

Common Questions

What exactly is a CSA share?

CSA stands for Community Supported Agriculture. By purchasing a share, you're becoming a partner in our farm. You get a weekly box of the freshest produce harvested right here in Pine River, supporting sustainable local agriculture while filling your plate with seasonal goodness.

When does the harvest season begin?

Our main season typically runs from mid-June through October. Nature sets the pace, but we keep our members updated every step of the way as the first greens poke through the soil and the tomatoes start to ripen under the Minnesota sun.

Can I skip a week if I'm away?

Life happens! If you're heading out of town, you can gift your box to a friend or neighbor, or we can donate it to a local food shelf on your behalf. Just give us a heads-up a few days in advance so we can plan the harvest.

Where do I pick up my veggies?

We have pickup spots at the farm in Pine River, and community sites in Brainerd and Nisswa. We keep logistics simple so you can focus on the food. Exact times and maps are sent out before our first harvest begins!
